Family days, ruthless nights. John Timmermans continues his adventures - juggling summer life with assaults on secluded French waters, home unpressured carp and where nothing comes easy.

Jack and his friend had been talking for a while, about going on a trip to the River Wye. It had been a bit of a dream of theirs to catch a wild river barbel. They both took a trip last Autumn to the Herefordshire countryside in pursuit of these superb fish.

John returns to the big gravel pit featured in the April 2013 episode of Drive & Survive, in the hope of a huge carp. The stocked fish had now grown to enormous sizes, with some now exceeding 60lb, but with nearly 900 acres of water to roam, it wasn’t going to be easy locating them.
