Who sells their house to launch a bait company in one of the toughest markets imaginable? Sean Leverett did exactly that when he founded Proper Carp Baits. It’s a decision that perfectly sums up Sean’s all-in approach. The same mindset saw him walk away from successful businesses to pursue carp fishing full time, dedicating five years to chasing some of the UK’s most iconic fish, including the legendary Fat Lady, The Brute and The Black Mirror.
In this candid, two-hour-plus interview, Sean reveals what life as a full-time carp angler was really like, why he eventually stepped away from the relentless pursuit of big carp, and the lessons he learned along the way. Featuring stories from St Ives, Pingewood Lagoon, Colnemere, Road Lake, Roach Pit and the legendary French venue Lac de St Cassien, this is an honest conversation with one of carp fishing’s most committed characters.
