Back in the Golden Era of UK big carp fishing, a young Jim Shelley collided with the King of UK carp waters, the awe-inspiring Wraysbury No1. Not only did the 120-acre Mecca hold the British record fish, Mary, but it also held a back-up stock that many rank among the most prestigious that these isles have ever produced. Fresh on the scene and already making a name for himself, Jim was a force of nature and he was ready to test himself on the hardest of waters. This is part one of his colourful Wraysbury reminiscences, so strap yourself in for the ride.
