Episode #008

Duration: 2h 5min

We’re super-excited to usher in episode #008 of Cypography, headlined by a mega Belgian road-trip collaboration with Subsurface, featuring the main man himself, Gareth Fareham.

Gaz has been traveling to Europe in search of fresh challenges for a few years now, so when we got the chance to tag along and document the process, we jumped at the chance. We joined Gaz and his friend Benji at a remote dammed river before following them to the fascinating chain of pits that Gaz once dubbed, ‘Nowhere’.

It’s fair to say that the experience didn’t disappoint, and we quickly found ourselves up close and personal with the king of the complex himself, a giant mirror called Arrowtail, tucked up in a quiet corner. The tension went up a few notches as the lads tried to outwit this regal Belgian Blue, and we’re not giving too much away by saying that the hour-long Session film finished with quite a bang!

For The Record comes direct from the tiny workshop of one of carp angling’s most eccentric characters, Jamie Smith. Jamie takes us on an atmospheric jaunt back to the Yateley complex at its finest, in all its muddy glory, as well as touching on the events that led to him becoming a carp-care pioneer when he formed cult brand, Cypry Products.

Of course, there’s all the usual carpy goodness to back up our two main events, with contributions from angling heavyweights Darrell Peck, Simon Bater, James Armstong, Nick Helleur and Alfie Russell. If you can’t learn a few things from their collective wisdom, then you might as well give up! Finally, Elliott gives us the unsponsored lowdown on the latest incarnation of the Trakker Tempest Brolly, and the new Thinking Anglers unhooking mat!

It’s all in the box-fresh Cypography #008!
